Pam Monroe

Pamela Monroe was born and raised in Iowa. She began piano studies at the age of 5 at her church in Waterloo - Westminster Presbyterian Church! Pamela received her Bachelor of Music in applied piano "with distinction" from Cornell College. She received her Masters of Music in applied piano from the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with the world-reknown Russian duo piano team of Vronsky & Babin.

Since coming to California, Pamela has performed all over the southern California area in solo and chamber concerts. She is currently a member of the San Diego Chamber Music Society.

Pamela has been involved along with her husband, Jerry, in the Vanguard Players for 15 years. She has been musical director for a number of shows, including "Music Man," "Kiss Me Kate," "Wizard of Oz," "Applause" and "Gigi." She has starred in several productions and played various roles on stage in many others. The Vanguard "family" has become very special to both Pam and Jerry.

One of the honors Pamela has enjoyed was being asked to open three Padre games with the National Anthem at Qualcomm Stadium.

Pamela is married to Jerry Monroe, a lawyer by trade and videographer, photographer and actor by hobby. They have four children, Jeff, Michael, Brian and Stephanie and five grandchildren, Daniel, Evan, Gavin and twin girls, Annabelle and Alexis.

 

Clark Lampard

 has been the Youth Director at Westminster for almost 2 years, and brings a life time of service and devotion to Christ to the position. He grew up in Pacific Beach and attended Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church for over 30 years, where he sang in the praise band, choir, played in their bell choir, served several times as a deacon and once as an elder, participated in their theatre group, the Mustard Seed Players and was involved in the youth groups, as a participant and leader. Clark’s ministry combines his knowledge of the Bible, along with his interest in contemporary worship music and drama creates an exciting, and he creates an encouraging environment, sharing his musical talents with the kids, teaching them to play many instruments, and recently started the children’s Praise Band.

Clark has acted in several plays at Westminster and also performs monologues based on biblical characters, including Joseph, the husband of Mary, Simon Peter and Judas Iscariot. His latest work is a monolog he adapted from a poem about Pontius Pilot.

Always up for a good game, and with a rousing sense of humor, Clark loves all sports, plays on the church softball team and has taught children’s tennis for the YMCA and the city of Chula Vista.

His ministry is not a one man show. His wife Karen is by his side during all the events and brings the balance necessary in teaching and nurturing young children. She is a professional artist and award winning interior designer and her passion for beauty is shared and taught to the children in many ways.
Clark is devoted to creating a fun, comfortable environment, where the children of the church and community feel welcome and excited about learning and living the life of Christ.

 

The Rev. Dr. Tony Wolfe

The Rev. Dr. Tony Wolfe is pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in San Diego. He previously served congregations in Newport Beach, New York, Florida and New Zealand and was a member of the faculty in the Program in Peace and Conflict Studies at USC where he also worked as a consultant at the Center for Public Education in International Affairs. He is a former Director of the Fellowship of Reconciliation in Los Angeles, where he served on the National Middle East Task Force.
Dr. Wolfe has traveled the world exploring the bridges between the different religions, including research in Nepal on the confluence of Hinduism and Buddhism, study at the Gandhi Museum in New Delhi, and investigation of the influence of Christianity in Kenya and Tanzania. His most recent trip was to China and Tibet in June of 2007 where he engaged in dialog with Tibetan monks and explored the social values of Chinese culture.
Dr. Wolfe received his Ph.D. from the Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, CA., his M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary in New York City, and his B.A. from Anderson University in Indiana. He and his wife, Dr. Karen Anderson, have six children.
